What a gigantic occasion in the records, the first ever hosted event in our reminiscences by the Thuthuka Accounting Students Society (TASS-Alice). The event scheduled 20th October, Saturday twilight started a little bit belatedly.
It was openned with a touching prayer by Bro. P. Didiza where we were inviting the subsistence and the anointing from our Lord. TASS President-Mr. L. Maciko welcomed the guests and everyone who was present.
It was the utmost ever, outrageous and exuberant event, where there was HOD of Accounting himself Mr. Temba Zakuza, who he conveyed a speech about Thuthuka Program at the University of Fort Hare. Mr. Xolile Nobuya, course coordinator was busy assuring smooth flow of the event on average.
TASS Committee was busy keeping Excellency to the event assisting with this and that. Wow!!!!!! What an enormous night. Let them do the task; Huh!!!!! The Program directors kept the students wowed with hilarity and bliss of this successful event. It was Mr. V. Mbiza & Ms L. Makoopo and Mr. B. Ncemani & Ms. T. Mbanguta (wow guys, you made us be proud of ourselves)
Hey?hey?. What a great motivational, inspirational and educative speech from the guest speaker of the day, Mr. Freeman Nomvalo. The event was really awesome and overwhelming. He really empowered the students and he made the event be of high status.
The students were encouraged and awarded with certificates in Academics, extracurricular activities, Recognitions of Class representatives, TASS Committee and also the guest speaker was esteemed for his splendid task he executed. The awarding was done by Mr. Zakuza, Mr. Bomba, Mr. Nomvalo, Mr. Nobuya and class representatives Mr. Ncemani and Ms. Sogayise.
The nocturnal was implausible with great ululations and applauses. The Banquet was really indeed a successful event, come 2008 we are waiting for you. You missed the outfits on display, eish, the designs and colours.
Never mind if failed to spot on that day, 2008 is at the door step!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There were sport events played on that extraodinary calender day i.e soccer, netball, volleyball and cricket.Students got a hold time to know each other for instance 1st & 2nd years with those doing 3rd, 4rth and Honours in East London.
Results for the games were as follows:

TASS hosted their foremost tournament ever; it was prearranged for only two sport codes; Netball and Soccer. The tournament was played on the 8th of September 2007, saturday at the UFH sports grounds.
Teams were invited such as the Campus Residence teams in Soccer and Netball, they availed themselves. In soccer, it was definately high and low teams fighting to make their first record be crowned as the "Thuthuka 2007 Soccer Tournament Champions". The team from the Tyali Res. was purely crowned as the champions of the tournament.
Prize were as follows:
1st Prize: Trophy & Gold Medal won by Tyali Residence team.
2nd Prize: Silver Medals consolated B.Ed Soccer team as the runners-up.
Up to the girls, ladies themselves in netball ............ Netball Club proved that they are the champions and they were capped as the "Thuthuka 2007 Netball Tournament Champions"and they won a Trophy and Gold medals whilst the Thuthuka Netball team secured a 2nd place with Silver medals in hand.
The tournament had a massive turn-out of spectators and supporters, it was the greatest achivement for TASS Committee to organize such successful tournament for the first time. It is a written and memorable record in everyone's mind.
The teams were crowned medals by the TASS President Mr.Maciko himself, with the hands of his committee. It was a fantastic day, everyone enjoyed the time in sport.
The focul rationale of the tournament was not just to play; it was for: having fun as the society in the campus with other faculties; Building a friendly environment and bringing happiness in students into extra-mural activities; Creating an open atmosphere within the Accounting department and other departments in the University of Fort Hare.
The tournament had a massive support starting from teams, players even the great number of spectators all over the Main Campus.
Are you ready for the Next fire, TASS is flaming fires... they are hot........hot......hot.............

The Society attended to a Sports day at George. Students were shortlisted using certain criterion to limitize down to a specified number to George. TASS Committee and members availed themselves, and it was really a trimendous event in narration.
Universities that were in attendence were:
University of Fort Hare(UFH), University of Stellenbosch, University of Cape Town(UCT), Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University(NMMU).
Games which were organized were the football and netball games, other sport codes such as volleyball and cricket were not accommodated into the initiative of Thuthuka (SAICA initiative for development).
The UFH (East London & Alice campuses) had two football teams A & B where they locked horns up and down in the first match at 9hoo in George. Team A played till the finals with NMMU, where there match ended with two-goal draw. The referee referred the to the penalty shoot out; it's then UFH out-sparkled winning the hot burning competition.
The UFH demostrated that, they are indeed the 2007 Thuthuka champions even in netball. UFH was playing against NMMU, even though it seems NMMU was the weakest link, NMMU was exempted "good bye".
It was great news topped up with smiles and contentment. The gathering was really awe-inspiring and educative with speeches out flowing from the Big guns i.e. Chantyl Mulder, Sizwe Ntsaluba VSP & Kpmg official.
Wow!!!! can you imagine the 2008 Thuthuka Sports day....................I can't wait to see, to be there.
